One year, 5,000 km, at least 50 kilometers of elevation gain. Never regretted the purchase. Grinning at 65 km/h downhill and uphill with 100 kilos in the box. The Mäleon pushes the boundaries of what's possible with a cargo bike.
We live up here on the hill, with a 15 percent incline, a 250-meter drop to the next village, 6 km to the nearest shops and kindergarten, and 20 km to work. And we do practically everything by cargo bike. With two kids, you always have a ton of stuff with you. We're impressed by its performance!
I sold my second car so I could get more exercise. I now do all the trips I used to make with the second car by bike.
I use a regular e-bike for excursions. Transporting my children (7 and 9 years old) is a breeze. It's also good for the environment, but for me, at my age (59), the health aspect (exercise and stress relief) is actually the most important factor.

It can replace the car in the city.
I think it answers the question of which cargo bike you need when the children get older. Because you can still use it for all those practical things and also transport older children.
We are a family with two children (5 and 8 years old) without a car and live in the city. The Mäx&Mäleon is the perfect companion, even when the children are older.
We've ride many single-track cargo bikes and were initially a little skeptical about how we'd like the steering: It's truly fantastic how well the steering works and how intuitive the transition from a Long John is. The stability is noticeably improved by the two front wheels – even riding on snow was no problem. The front wheels eliminate the need to "jack it up," which was quite a struggle with the Long John. The additional handbrake is inconspicuous but a great help. We are completely satisfied with this perfectly designed bike and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

The tilting mechanism provides a fantastic riding experience. The powerful battery easily handles even steep inclines. For me, the perfect combination of features – being able to carry adults and children or even cargo – was the deciding factor. I have a bike for everything that rides just like a regular e-bike. Delivery of the Passenger model was also seamless. Despite the rainy day, everything was patiently explained and adjusted (saddle height, etc.).
