WE ARE
MÄX & MÄLEON
We're bringing Breeze
to cramped, hot cities.
AND FINALLY, DRIVING PLEASURE IN CLIMATE PROTECTION.
Because we are picking up where the automotive industry left off: We are building sustainable mobility – vehicles for a green, livable future.
WHAT DRIVES US
Our cities are choking on traffic, the planet is getting hotter and hotter. Despite this, vehicles are getting bigger and bigger, spewing ever more greenhouse gases into the air.
We've been living in the city without a car for years. But of course, we still have to go shopping or transport things from A to B all the time. And of course, we still want to ride to the lake, have barbecues, go to the garden, go to the playground, go to school, go to daycare, go to work, and so on, with our children, relatives, and friends.
Taking the train is often okay, but just as often it's a hassle. Car sharing is usually expensive, difficult to access – and, of course, a climate killer. So it's constantly a question of: climate protection or comfort. Driving pleasure or conscience. Desire or sacrifice.
This made us think and try things out.
MORE & THAN OR
We need more than just "or": Individual mobility that is comfortable, practical , and inclusive, that is fun and environmentally friendly. Vehicles that adapt to human needs like chameleons to the colors of their environment.
Since we couldn't find a vehicle that met these requirements, we developed one ourselves:
- An e-cargo bike for transporting children and adults
- Comfortable and versatile like a station wagon
- Dynamic, free and sustainable like a bicycle
- With passenger seat, trunk and Sports Chassis
- For the city, for the countryside and also for the mountains
- The first electrifying alternative to the car
MAKING OF MÄLEON
The first drafts were created in 2020, and
Mäx & Mäleon were founded in 2021.

WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO US
SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY
Electric cars generate 80% of their emissions even before their first journey, namely during manufacturing and transport. Truly sustainable mobility therefore requires that supply chains and production processes are also designed with environmental awareness in mind. To avoid long transport routes and to control manufacturing conditions as effectively as possible, we produce every bike ourselves. When selecting our components and suppliers, we place the utmost importance on durability, regional sourcing, and sustainability.
Our commitment to quality combines Swabian engineering with sustainable craftsmanship. Therefore, every Mäx & Mäleon is unique, manufactured in our Stuttgart production facility.
INCLUSIVE MOBILITY
Three times as many men as women work in the transport sector – consequently, transport routes, vehicles, and mobility services are often designed for male bodies and usage patterns. At Mäx & Mäleon, too, there are currently more men than women. That's precisely why we want to help change this perspective.
Because truly sustainable mobility considers all road users – and that's why ride with Mäx & Mäleon: people of all ages and genders, all backgrounds and skin colors, with physical limitations and disabilities. Our bikes can optionally be built with barrier-free access or a wheelchair ramp.
FEMALE MOBILITY
In particular, we promote female mobility, because female mobility behavior is often more complex than male mobility: In the course of everyday care work, women not only move themselves, but also children, relatives, acquaintances, and cover more short combination routes than long, straight routes.
That means: On the way to work, quickly to the daycare and school, and on the way back to the supermarket, sports field, and so on. Therefore, Mäx & Mäleon builds versatile vehicles that are both convenient and fun – we turn cargo bikes into relief bikes, so to speak.
Sustainable corporate culture
For us, consistent sustainability also means building a sustainable corporate culture that makes participation its guiding principle.
We want a company that not only claims to have flat hierarchies and democratic processes, but actually lives them, especially when there are conflicts.
We want a company that pays everyone fairly, where everyone enjoys working and contributing – a company that belongs to all its employees.
The company is successful when employees feel comfortable, customers are satisfied, and it makes an impact on the transport revolution.
