We’re a car‑free family with two kids (5/8) living in the city. The Mäx&Mäleon is the perfect companion as the children grow.
We've ridden many single‑track cargo bikes ride and were skeptical about the steering: It's fantastic how the steering works and how intuitively the switch from a Long John goes. The stability is clearly felt thanks to the two front wheels – even on snow it was no problem. The "lifting" that was a workout on a Long John disappears with the front wheels. The extra hand brake is unobtrusive but a big help. We're completely satisfied with this fully refined bike and would buy it again anytime.
The concept convinced us immediately.
Exactly this cargo bike we were looking for. Sustainable production in Germany with exclusively German or European components. It truly is an alternative to a small e‑car and, in our view, the better choice.

In town ride we prefer Mäx&Mäleon far more than a car; in school traffic chaos and rush hour we’re ahead with the bike. Best of all, it grows with you, not just for transporting small kids. We’ve already taken Mom, Dad and a child on the bike to the Christmas market 🙂
As a work vehicle and car replacement
The bike rides great, you can haul big loads. In winter the ride with three wheels is much safer. One downside: somewhere in my gears there's moisture – that means the shifting sticks in sub-zero temps. Otherwise it's superb, and with motor assist you can also climb hills up to a 20% gradient hochride. Quality is excellent and the service fits.

Our Passenger Bike is a real boost for the mobility of my adult, severely limited daughter Lea. She can hardly wait to get on and loves finally being the fastest. And for us it is an absolute relief not having to constantly push the unwieldy wheelchair.
It's simply fun. The stylish look catches attention and sparks conversation quickly.
The tilt technology gives a superb ride feel. The powerful battery easily handles steep climbs. For me, the perfect mix is being able to carry adults, children, and cargo. I have an all‑purpose bike that rides just like a regular e‑bike. Delivery of the Passenger Bikewas smooth. Even on a rainy day everything was explained and set up patiently (saddle height, etc.). Phone and WhatsApp support were always reachable. Thank you.
Perfect for bike tours with my wife and our dog on weekends and holidays.
My wife can no longer ride a bike due to illness ride. Shopping in the village alone or with my wife. Maybe from spring also commuting to work (32 km route). Mäx & Mäleon can do customer customizations, which other manufacturers can’t easily do. For us, e.g., the higher backrest with a 4‑point harness.
